Attitudes drives performance

Assalamualaikum, I pray may you all are in your best of health and blessed by Allah always.

Its been a while since I last updated my blog. Quite occupied with several training programs. But, alhamdullillah, today I manage to squeeze some free time for my self. Huh! what a relief.

Anyway, last 2 week I just finished a training program with Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) at its main office located at Jalan Tun Razak. One of the busiest road in KL, trust me!. Back to the story, it was held specifically for the student under PNB sponsorship. These guys will go to various outstanding university in United Kingdom (not that I really care) such as Cambrige, London Business School and many more. It was about 18 people attended the training session. Surprisingly, these guys just about 19 to 20 years old. Quite a fragile years don't you think so? Well, its their choice. Let just hope for the best for them.

The training program was about spiritual enhancement (Pengukuhan Rohani). Basically, the participants were exposed on th importance of having strong and firm spiritual quotient as this will shield them from various negative elements which could be found basically anywhere there. One thing that I capture about these guys is that, being intellectually wise is not enough, you need to have a strong substance (spiritual element) that will guide you in your life journey. Is that all? NO!, you also need to have another element that I termed as Adversity Quotient (AQ). This element basically tell you that you need to have the right attitudes in order for you to have the right result. With the right amount of dosage, you can cure a disease.

Attitudes shape your personality. Having the right attitudes will shape the right personality. Back to the story again, the way I see it these guys actually are lacking in terms of that. They do not have the learning attitudes. They do not see that they are going to a place that is completely new for them and what sort of preparation that they need to have. They do not see that this is actually a life time opportunity and they could make the best of it. Quite sad though.

One thing that I can share here is that, in order for a person to be successful, being intellectually wise alone is not enough. The basic foundation of being successful is by having the right attitudes-The Learning Attitudes-willingness to learned. Most graduate nowadays, are also lacking in this. They assume that by having a degree, a scroll, they are able to handle the reality of life out there. A degree is merely an academic qualification, in the real world, what matters is what I would termed as The TriFactors:
1) Experience
2) Exposure
3) Expertise

But the question is how? the answer is simple by having the right attitudes-The Learning Attitudes-willingness to start over from below and walk your way up to the top. To all graduates out there, here's my advice:

"You have finished you campus world, now your are moving into a new world-career world. Do not assume that both are the same. NO THERE ARE NOT. In order for you to success in this new world, you must equip yourself with the best tool-ultimate tool-that will guide you to triumph. What is it? THE LEARNING ATTITUDES-willingness to learn."
